Structured Growth
When the demand is there, but the business is not scaled to meet it. I design the structures to enable the business to grow to meet its potential while maintaining its identity/culture and standards.
When you realise you need to stop digging and start climbing
Clear thinking under pressure. Analysis that finds the root cause of problems. Strategic solutions that bring successful change. The leadership to make things happen
I'm Cahal O'Reilly and I manage change for small and medium size companies. Change that makes companies more efficient, successful and competitive.
Sport, the British Army, business or recovering from a catastrophic accident— I've spent my life in environments where losing is not an option. My reputation is built on the hard part: developing a winning strategy and executing a plan under pressure. When most people give up, I find a way to keep things moving forward and optimize outcomes.
I made a full recovery from a catastrophic accident. Hit by a car traveling at 70mph while cycling from London to Dublin, I miraculously survived. After four and a half years of multiple setbacks, requiring multiple operations, I made a full recovery. My remarkable story became part of the MIB national campaign on uninsured driving.
Each client and case is unique, but often they fall into one of these three categories:.
When the demand is there, but the business is not scaled to meet it. I design the structures to enable the business to grow to meet its potential while maintaining its identity/culture and standards.
When something's gone wrong, the first job is to stop the bleeding and stabilise the situation . I triage the problems set and work out how to limit the damage fast. Then switch to developing a plan to restructure the company to be strong enough and flexible enough to meet future challanges.
In a merger, where two cultures clash, i specialise in restructuring the business to build on the good cultural traits and phase out the bad. Developing a new hydrid culture to maximise employee potential and drive up standards. I design and oversee/lead the transition process.
“I would have no hesitation in employing him in an executive capacity again. In my view he combines the forensic skills of a barrister with the decisiveness of a surgeon. He is a good man to have by your side in a crisis”
“My right-hand man in a sensitive and demanding task — energetic, hardworking and effective. By the end we had made real progress, much of it due to his efforts.”
“Thoroughly reliable, honest and transparent, and a pleasure to have on the team. No task was too challenging.”
“Cahal provided decisive leadership, direction and unfaltering determination at a time when the business needed it most.”
“Cahal is above all effective in identifying the crux of a problem and coming up with a workable plan to resolve it. He is extremely efficient at carrying out a plan of action.”
Each engagement was shaped to the client. The thread is the same: clarity, then delivery.
A live crisis, an operational puzzle, or a quiet sense that something isn't working — one call usually tells us if I can help.
